Access and account setup

There is no public registration page. A company administrator creates a known user from Administration → Team and assigns one of three roles: Estimator, Checker or Administrator.

  1. Receive your temporary password from the administrator through the company’s approved private channel.
  2. Sign in to the company’s Quote Control address.
  3. Replace the temporary password when prompted. No quotation or administration route is available until this step is complete.
  4. Confirm that the company name and your expected navigation are visible.

If the temporary password is lost, ask an administrator to reset access. The new temporary password replaces the earlier one and all existing sessions are revoked.

If recovery email is enabled, use Forgot password on the sign-in page. Quote Control returns the same response whether or not an account exists, so the page does not disclose membership. Open the emailed link and set a new password before it expires. If the link is unavailable, ask an administrator to reset access manually.

Owned means the person recorded as responsible for the quotation or open handover. An administrator can transfer open work to another active Estimator; transfer changes its owner without rewriting historical actions.

Independent approval is a quotation decision by an eligible Checker or Administrator who does not own that revision. A template-permitted sign-off is a separate handover decision: the published checklist decides which role may sign it. Approval authority does not grant every handover sign-off, and a handover sign-off does not grant quotation editing authority.

Visibility is read access, not editing authority

Section titled “Visibility is read access, not editing authority”

Shared quotation visibility lets active users read the wider company portfolio, subject to their role and the workflow. It does not let an Estimator edit another person’s work. Owner-only restricts ordinary Estimator reading to owned work while preserving the access Checkers and Administrators need for their duties.

A role never overrides account activity, module enablement, ownership, quotation visibility, approval independence or checklist-template rules. These checks run on the server, so a hidden button or direct API request does not bypass them. An inactive account cannot use authenticated application routes, and deactivation revokes its active sessions.

All active users can choose a personal appearance, read Changelog and use Feedback. Timeline, Orders and Knowledge appear only when the company has enabled the relevant module and the user’s workflow access permits it.

When configured by the operator, all three roles can also open Support development. Contributions are completely optional and do not grant access, authority, priority or a different level of support.

A recognised company may show Founding pilot 2026 below its identity in the expanded navigation. Its signed-in users see Pilot member 2026 inside the open account menu. The labels acknowledge participation only: they are not account roles, do not grant extra authority and cannot be changed by a company administrator.

A company may instead show Development sponsor 2026, or Founding pilot · Sponsor 2026 when both acknowledgements apply. Sponsor recognition belongs to the company, so it does not add a personal account label or capability.

Open the user menu at the top right and choose Appearance. Select:

  • System to follow this device’s Light or Dark setting;
  • Light to keep Quote Control light; or
  • Dark to keep Quote Control dark.

The change applies immediately. Quote Control saves it in this browser only, so choosing a theme does not change another device, another browser or another person’s view. Select System again if you want later device-theme changes to be followed automatically.
